Explain RAID and Define each of its Levels

RAID - Which stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks is a technology that employs the simultaneous use of two or more hard disk drives to achieve greater level of performance, reliability and/or larger data volume sizes.  
Brief summery of the most commonly used RAID levels
RAID 0 : Striped set without parity
RAID 1 : Mirrored set without parity
RAID 5 : Striped set with distributed parity
